Modular West Ltd was established in response to the growing demand from clients for design led, quality and efficient modular accommodation here in Scotland.
Founded in 2019 by local Barra contractor Roddy MacInnes and partner Lisa MacInnes , Modular West provides a distinct hands on approach, combining a responsive design process, collaborative relationships with clients and a considered, holistic fabrication process delivered and completed on site.
Recognising the need for a more streamlined construction process on the Western Isles - a location historically blighted by high construction costs and traditional onsite construction methods hampered by the local weather - Modular West has constructed a new purpose built factory in Barra. The factory is now fully complete and production underway. The factory provides fit for purpose accommodation to deliver projects twelve months of the year.

Modular construction offers limitless design opportunities. Our buildings can be designed to fit in with vernacular architecture or offer a cutting-edge aesthetic. Once assembled, modular units are indistinguishable from their site-built counterparts.
CONSTRUCTION
Modular construction is a process in which a building is constructed off-site, under controlled plant conditions, using the same materials and designing to the same Building control standards as conventionally built facilities – but in about half the time. Buildings are produced in “modules” that when put together on site, reflect the identical design intent and specifications of the most sophisticated site-built facility – without compromise.
Your build will be delivered to site, craned into position and fixed by our team for complete reassurance.
